a child’s day time spiral
for special exhibition in Mannheim

The time spiral is a frequently used composition to illustrate eras that no one can imagine. For a special exhibition at the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museums we arranged the rather boring time scale with certain tetrapods, but with a projection onto a child’s daily routine. The exposition is: If the earth was formed during the first lesson on Monday, no visible life forms appeared for most of the week. Then this is your Friday, Cambrian Radiation in the morning, transition to land around noon, extinction of big dinosaurs after dinner, and the Neolithic Revolution being a matter of seconds.
