VORTRAG / TALK / LECTURE
Pantelosaurus and other pelycosaurs
The age of coal did not take place only in the Carboniferous named after it, but continued into the Permian. Saxony has several districts with historical mining. In a pit in what is now Freital, a whole group of pelycosaurs was found in 1901 – 300 metres below the surface! How these animals lived and died, what their world looked like and what a Pantelosaurus saxonicus also tells us about ourselves is likewise the subject of current research.
