Drawing live with a real palaeontologist – that does not only mean looking over his shoulder or putting in requests. You can also learn a great deal. The fossils you collect in the quarry belonged, 150 million years ago and thus almost exactly halfway through the age of dinosaurs, to an ecosystem in a shallow sea, between reefs and small islands. It was home to the primeval bird Archaeopteryx and to many pterosaurs. Again and again you find small feather stars (Saccocoma), ammonites or even fish here. And anyone who would rather talk about velociraptors, placoderms or sabre-toothed cats will get their questions answered too. You have to make the most of it when Dr. Freddi Spindler takes some time to be thoroughly quizzed. An offer certainly not just for children!
